Update on Events
Our normal membership year runs from October 1 – September 30. Players already in Mesa may place checks in the red Treasurer’s box in the Captains Closet, or give checks to Kathy, Jim or Diana. The amount remains at $50, which includes the right to vote, hold office, use of equipment, participate in clinics and in-house leagues, and show general support for the Tennis Club for the entire year. The use of Paypal on the svetennis.com website may be the easiest option for Canadians. Go to Home, then Forms, then Membership Dues.
Honorary Membership is available for those who have reached age 85 and have been full dues-paying for a minimum of five years. Honorary Members retain all rights of full membership. Please let Cindy Clark know if you qualify as Honorary Member – firstname.lastname@example.org
Court time will be reserved for 75+ players. Players under 85 will be expected to pay $50 membership dues. Balls will be provided for match play. 75+ players are encouraged to also participate in other Club league play, where they will be valuable mentors to lower level players.
NOVEMBER 3RD GENERAL MEETING
The meeting will be held from 2-4 p.m. in the auditorium, and live streamed for those unable to attend. An agenda and relevant attachments will be sent out next week. At that time, members will be invited to submit any questions via email in advance. Due to limited meeting time, any questions not covered will be answered via email following the meeting.
We are limited to 50 people in the auditorium, including Board members and audio visual personnel. A sign up sheet has been posted at the courts for those wishing to attend in person, with 40 people plus a “wait list”. Priority will be given to voting members.
In the auditorium, masks and temperature checks will be required. No plastic shields. No food or beverages other than water. Social distancing must be maintained.
In lieu of EVSTL play, both league and recreational players will be included in in-house match play. No TenCap will be used, and scores will not be posted. Captains/coordinators will arrange competitive play for men and women on regular “league play” days, and mixed doubles on “practice” days. Balls will be provided.
A separate Bulletin was sent with information, and reserved court time will be adjusted as necessary.
Due to current HOA COVID-19 restrictions, the only confirmed November/December event at this point are the November 3 general meeting and November 27 court lighting. We will try to keep the svetennis.com website calendar updated.
